Class Descriptions

Mommy/Daddy & Me - 30 minute movement, tumbling and pre-ballet for 18months-2.5yrs with Mommy/Daddy helping in the classroom. It's a great way to get kids and parents out of the house and meeting new friends! Class is suitable for boys and girls.

Tiny Tots - Ages 3-4.5: Foster a love of movement in your child with this fun and energetic 45 minute combination of classical jazz, ballet, and tumbling technique. Tiny Tots classes are a great way for kids to learn the fundamentals of dance, as well as improve listening skills. This is great class for students and parents to form new friendships.  Lessons consider students’ attention spans and keeps them happily engaged while learning to translate music to movement. Interaction is consistent and incorporates a high level of praise to promote a strong sense of accomplishment. Class is suitable for boys and girls.

Elementary Classes - Ages 5-7.5: Combining genres of dance, these 45- 60 minute high energy classes will develop your child’s coordination as well as an understanding of dance concepts and terminology. Through this enjoyable educational experience, students will learn to use dance as a creative means of self-expression. Classes are suitable for boys and girls. 

  • Jazz & Lyrical: This class offers an introduction into the technical elements of dance such as kicks, leaps, turns, splits, and isolations. Classes include stretch and strengthening exercises, floor work, and across the floor progressions in addition to a center floor combinations. The lyrical aspect of this class teaches dancers to tell a story through their body and facial expressions while demonstrating an emotional connection to the music.
  • Hip Hop: This class introduces young dancers to the basic vocabulary and style of hip hop movement. A class focused on learning a variety of styles while infusing students' personal styles and expression. This high energy class can be taught to anyone with a passion to move, so no dance experience is required.
  • Tap: Students learn tap-rhythm and timing. Class consists of warm-up, center, and across the floor training. Students learn shuffles, flaps, time steps, buffalo, hops, drawbacks, cramp rolls, and basic turns. Students learn dance routines to all types of music. Ages 5 and up. No experience necessary.
  • Musical Theater: Sing, dance and act to Broadway's favorite shows. Our musical theatre program teaches stage dance. Basic jazz technique is combined with stage direction, acting and singing. This class emphasizes the use of showmanship and character. They learn stylized movement classic to the stage entertainment genre.
  • Ballet Combo: This dynamic class seamlessly blends the elegance of classical ballet with the excitement of contemporary movement. Perfect for all skill levels, we will guide your dancer through a fusion of traditional ballet techniques and modern choreography, helping develop poise, flexibility, and strength.

Junior Classes - Ages 8-13: Dancers work toward gaining movement skills, finding confidence, and learning to enjoy expression through movement. Classes include stretch and strengthening exercises. Students become acquainted with basic technique as well as body awareness. No previous dance experience is necessary. With focus on creativity and technical development, dancers work in a nurturing atmosphere to build confidence and life/dance skills. Classes are suitable for boys and girls.

  • Contemporary: This unique style explores a wide range of organic, often angular movements and syncopated rhythms with a strong base in classical technique. Designed for the beginner students each class will give you a deeper understanding of body alignment, shifting of the weight, and confidence with floor work. This class encourages dancers to explore freedom of movement and self- expression.
  • Hip Hop: This class introduces young dancers to the basic vocabulary and style of hip hop movement. Teen Hip Hop - Ages 13 & Up: Dancers will learn the foundations of technique, rhythm, and musicality as well as build confidence in their performance. Dancers will be exposed to multiple styles of Hip Hop, learn their differences and apply that to choreography. This class offers fun, entertaining and challenging combinations. Class is suitable for boys and girls. 

Pre-Pointe Ballet- Ages 12 & up: Pre -pointe will offer a comprehensive preparation for dancers eager to dance on pointe. Our curriculum will be a unique total body conditioning class with an extra emphasis on core and ankle strengthening. Along with traditional ballet techniques, other exercises will incorporate the use of Therabands to aide in strengthening our dancers. We will also touch on the anatomy and construction of pointe shoes, basic anatomy of the feet and ankles, and how to care for our feet once on pointe. Dancers will be evaluated prior to being accepted into the class, we care about our dancers' safety and want to ensure they are physically ready to prevent injury. Dancers will be individually evaluated before pointe shoes may be purchased. All dancers will begin flat footed but as they become ready they will be allowed to wear pointe shoes in class. **
